ChiOneWednesday

A group of writers in Chichester coming together once a month for inspiration, collaboration and sensation

Through the fall of tears.

This months Christmas Villanelle, minus the Christmas bit.

I see you smile through the fall of tears,

Face cruel tricks played by a broken mind,

Chaos claiming your autumn years.

A fog of lost masks your deepest fears,

Unanchored from the reality you try to find,

I see you smile through the fall or tears.

Despite your bull and bluff everyone hears,

White noise of confusion as you’re left behind,

Chaos claiming your autumn years

The pain of not knowing burns and sears,

Left to chew on life’s last rind,

I see you smile through the fall of tears

It must seem like death hovers and lears,

Where every long hour serves to grind

Chaos claiming your autumn years.

Waiting patiently for when reality briefly appears,

But until then we stand by your side and gently remind,

I see you smile through the fall of tears,

As chaos claims your autumn years.
